Can you imagine the comic genius coming out of this man’s mouth on this photoshoot? Even if some of this stuff looks cool I will won’t be able to afford it. And in this case I back that. Gino TrilogySaturday, May 16th, 200913 years ago. Crazy shit. We are all hoping for it. Hope we get some nice Gino clips in the new Chocolate Vid. *crosses fingers* Even longer ago. I’m trying to think of someone with a nicer switch back t. I don’t know drawing a blank. 20 shot sequence. Random BA Gino Nike FootySaturday, May 16th, 2009I don’t know what these clips are from. I assume they are throwaways, but damn are they smooth. Bacon SkateboardsSaturday, May 16th, 2009I was flipping through one of the mags and saw a tiny ad for a company called Bacon Skateboards. The ad was like 1/8 of a page it was genius. It just had a dude doing a wall ride and had the Bacon Logo, no website, contact, or nothing. I had to google it. Turns out its some tiny new hesh company. Looks like they have one pro and he is 32 years old. Checked out the trailer and its a bunch of death metal and ripping groms. I don’t know where they are located, their phone number area code is 415 so they must be in the bay. Might just be some dude’s cell. Gotta support shit like this. NHS Open House (tons of photos!)Saturday, May 16th, 20095 years ago my buddy CJ got me a paid (10$ hr) design internship at NHS in Santa Cruz, CA and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I remember the first day I went into the warehouse - looking at all the old Jim Phillips Decks blew my mind. They were taking a company photo that day and I nervously squeezed in there. It was a trip I don’t know I still think about that shit all the time. The Santa Cruz hay day was a a little before my time, but I remember the older kids on my block skating the curb in front of my house for hours and hours. Just doing 50-50 stalls. Wheels were mad big so you could skate any terrain. I think skateboarding became a lot more limited when the wheels shrank, not creatively, but it made it harder to roll over things. Jim Phillips is still my favorite artist. Hearing the stories about how he stayed up for days tripping balls and drawing only added to the legacy. Recently, I bought the only Santa Deck that IN4 Ward carried. The new Manny Guzman with the Last Supper Skeletons eating Tacos. Summertime! Most of my boys don’t have time to skate so I have been going on a bunch of solo missions. Necessary to have fun and clear your head. Anyway, NHS had an open house showcasing their role in skateboarding history and their dedication to developing the most durable and efficient skate products on the market. They had a mean skate jam, bbq, showed how they make shirts and boards, and also gave away free SC Dot Neck Tatts! Pooley we blew it! They are a family up there. It’s super sick.
