Woody Allen Pooched

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

I was over at Bob and David looking for updates on David Cross’ new show and came across this old Woody Allen Interview. It’s pretty damn funny.

Snippet from David’s Situation

Here is a short bit of the pilot David and I shot for HBO a few months ago. HBO was AWESOME to let us shoot it, and we are the ones who nixed going forward with the show…however-
-We all had such a good time that David and I are working on a new show that will let us kick ass. I put this video up because I think it’s funny and a sample of the show for our fans who couldn’t make the live taping and wonder what the hell it was all about. It’s a clip, so you are missing story here, but I will try to fill you in on what’s up…basically Zach Galifianakis plays an annoying old friend of David’s who chances upon his house just when the house is being used to tape an episode of “Good Morning, Predator”. Zach’s character is named LAME and he has a shitty song he loves to sing to everyone and he does so here, completely oblivious to the fact that he has been labeled a predator on national TV. He’s so giddy at being on TV that that is all that matters. It’s a funny song and video with a story to it. Enjoy. (OH, and once again, HBO didn’t nix the show, WE did…so don’t get mad at them. They are on our side and we’re hoping to work with them in the future).

Sundance 2009 Recap

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

I got to do something I’ve been wanting to do for sometime. Go on vacation. And I got to go somewhere cool with some of my good bros. Here is a recap of the whole shabang. A time was had.

The first of many famous people we saw. Luke and my man Spike. Look at this fool. Swagger! Spike is looking kinda ill too.

Rude Boys living in their shanty dorm.

Our first night out we hit a club and had our second sighting. Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite must have been riding the dragon. I never seen someone dance so hard. Even Miyash would have been impressed.

This girl had her clothes painted on.

This is the Q&A for Adventureland. The director of Superbad’s new flick. It was pretty good. It had the kid from Squid and The Whale, Kristen Stewart, Martin Starr aka Bill from Freaks & Geeks, Bill Hader (looking like Dennis from Refused) and Kristin Wiig. I think Adventureland got picked up. It was a rad nostalgic flick.

New Frontier. They have this lounge sponsored by Sony with all kinds of new product and weird installations. Digital.

We saw a few acts at the ASCAP Cafe. Which was a heated tent that fit about 200 people. We saw the Gin Blossoms there. Chicks in their late 30s were were going off! Those guys still get crazy laid. Rachel Yamagata was by far the most pleasant act. She has played piano with Ryan Adams, Bright Eyes, and Rhett Miller, but she is very much her own deal. Man was she talented.

Snowbird.

Youth of America. This kid looked liked he brushed his teeth with Lucky Charms. His gums were bummed.

50% of our trip was waiting in line.

This was either Sam trying to get away from Luke’s fart or trying to replicate Fly Kicks from America’s Best Dance Crew. Man does he love that show.

Many different types of beer cans.

Outside an ill skate park. Shout out STA and Mets.

Utah School of Rock. These 10-year olds had Van Halen songs dialed. I was seriously blown away.

Dusk.

We were pretty broke, so we snuck on the kiddie hill around 2am. Sam was pretty toasted here.

We got up early for the Inauguration.

“My Ex-wife was Chinese. Your good people.” John Lennon’s Imagine in Park City.

North Shore of Oahu

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

The surf on the North Shore of Oahu is a BIG, BREEZY 25+ Feet today. The entire North Shore is closed off by Civil Defense. This is no joke. People often DIE in this shit. Straight off an Aleutian Island storm is some motherfucking JUICE.

Fake Band Name Contest

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Well it was a hard call. Some people wrote in with bands that I have previously been in, while others used real bands. Actually a lot of your went ahead and used real bands. Congratulations to Matthew Robinson for being the winner of FAKE BAND NAME CONTEST with “Pinocchio’s Dream”. Though there may have been a few entries that were more creative, in Matt’s email he asked if I had ever seen the movie. I couldn’t tell if he was joking or serious. Regardless it still put the icing on the cake. And no, that isn’t some random photo I found, it really is the dude.  Look for your limited Forrest Green Skipper Polo and other goodies in the mail Matt. Cool dreads!

Here are some other entries that were equally good, but didn’t quite cut the mustard if you get my drift:

Pennywise Jr
Passion Tides
Punk Rock the Band
Procto-bot
Rectal Rectification
The James Lipton Audience
Money Shot
Dealt Poorly
I like toy I jump for joy
Hulk Hogan’s Castlevania

Stay tuned for the next contest and more ways to win free stuff. We also have something awesome to share this coming Tuesday. Yeh!
